DevOps on z/OS is the ‘Need of the Hour’ for many Mainframe Enterprise clients. According to the 2020 BMC survey, 74% percent of the respondents who adopted a Z DevOps pipeline reported a return-on-investment within a year, or sooner. One of the largest challenges many clients face when adopting a Z DevOps pipeline is reducing the deployment time of their Z DevOps initiatives. Today, the environment setup may take anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks, which includes the setup of a virtualized z/OS environment with ZD&T, and configuration of Z DevOps tools, such as IDz, Git, Jenkins, etc. To address this pain point, Accenture built an accelerator which can reduce deployment time from weeks to hours. This pre-packaged offering, built with all the toolsets and pipeline deployed on cloud, helps lower barriers for clients beginning their Z DevOps transformation.
